Baby Cayden aka Mr Cay or Mr O borned on 17 Sept 2009 turns one month old on 17 October 2009. Its amazing that after 39+ weeks of pregnancy, im holding my little baby boy in my arms. The joyous event seems so unreal and at the same time, so confusing for me. Many said that:"You will know how to handle your baby after you give birth, its a mother's instinct..." Yes, mother's instinct aside, this new experience proves to be very challenging especially during the one month confinement period. I depend heavily on my helper (who is also very new to my household and to Singapore), and on my MIL... My MIL though did not stay long at my place everyday (she left after cooking the confinement dishes for me), she did a good job in buying fresh food & cooking.
My only regret - I did not engage in a confinement nanny. The upgrade in status to motherhood can be over-whelming and tiring esp during the 1st month. I became very teary, cranky on my hubby due to the lack of sleep and lack of confidence in handling baby Cayden...
Now that Mr Cay is one month old, my anxiety SLOWLY settles. I love seeing him look at me everyday, or making the "o" with his mouth. He tends to make the "o" when i am changing his soiled diaper... hahaha...
What i need now - A rejuvenating massage!! My back is aching!!! Rustic Nirvana, here i come... :)
